Zamfara APC Suspends Honourable Jaji

Written by Basirat Memudu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally suspended Honourable Aminu Sani Jaji, the lawmaker representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

The action was taken due to various infractions, including engaging in anti-party activities, causing factionalism within party structures, engaging in dishonest practices, and consistently being absent from party meetings and events as stated by the publicity secretary of the party, Yusuf Idris Gusau.

“The decision to suspend Jaji was conveyed to the APC National Chairman by the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the APC in Zamfara State after an emergency meeting held on May 17, 2024. The suspension, effective immediately, was announced by Malam Yusuf Idris, the Publicity Secretary of the APC Zamfara State chapter.

Idris explained that the suspension followed a thorough review of a report from a fact-finding committee established after the 2023 Zamfara State Governorship election to investigate allegations of anti-party activities.

“Despite multiple invitations, Hon. Jaji failed to appear before the State Disciplinary Committee to address these allegations, resulting in the committee reaffirming his suspension” Yusuf said.

According to him, the SEC of the APC Zamfara State chapter had endorsed the findings and recommendations of both the fact-finding and disciplinary committees, which include calling for Hon. Jaji’s suspension to be ratified by the APC National Executive Committee.

The initial suspension of Jaji originated from the APC Executive Committee of Birnin Magaji Ward and was confirmed by the Birnin Magaji Local Government Executive Committee, leading to the state’s SEC taking action in line with these prior resolutions.

The formal suspension notice has been sent to the APC National Chairman for approval and ratification, emphasizing the party’s dedication to upholding discipline and unity within its ranks.
