Zamfara Gov Urges Workers To Prioritize Integrity

In Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal has joined the low-key workers celebration at the JB Yakubu Secretariat auditorium Hall in Gusau.

Governor Lawal commended the resilience of Zamfara workers but voiced concern over their low salaries, especially amidst recent government policy changes like the removal of fuel subsidies.

He assured his commitment to civil service reform to enhance workers’ welfare, highlighting measures such as compulsory retirements to create opportunities for new employees.

The governor also addressed pension and gratuity issues, stating that his administration had been diligently clearing backlog payments.

He disclosed specific figures for recent payments, emphasizing transparency and accountability in governance.

Governor Lawal urged workers to prioritize integrity and contribute to the state’s development, emphasizing the need to combat corruption.

He also highlighted the challenge of insecurity, calling for unified efforts to tackle the longstanding issue hindering the state’s progress.

Representatives from trade unions expressed gratitude for the governor’s attention to workers’ welfare while highlighting ongoing challenges faced by workers in the state.
